I am a mission-driven nonprofit executive with over ten years of experience in the field and believe nothing should stand in the way of your organization's wellbeing and ability to serve our communities.
Born in Boston to Colombian parents, I had the privilege of earning my degree from Berkeley Law and worked at various nonprofits across California, Alabama, and Arizona before becoming the Executive Director and CEO of Arizona Legal Women and Youth Services.
Since joining ALWAYS almost four years ago, we have been able to nearly triple our operating budget and quadruple staff to serve more trafficking survivors and vulnerable youth than ever before.
Leading a nonprofit is rewarding but not easy. If you are looking for help navigating the peaks and valleys of development, finance, board governance, personnel matters, and operations, I would be thrilled to discuss your journey and what's possible.
"Valentina was invaluable to me during my first year as Executive Director. She’s equal parts coach, expert, champion, and therapist, and she’s uniquely skilled at knowing which you need. From recommending outsourced IT and bookkeeping services, to connecting me with networks of nonprofit leaders, to celebrating a successful new hire, to brainstorming website content, to creating a strategic plan, Valentina was like a fractional deputy director (and wise elder) as I learned the ropes. Running an organization is hard, but it’s more sustainable and rewarding when you have Valentina in your corner."
Sara Haji, Executive Director of The Social Justice Legal Foundation
